Melting into Beauty

Melting into Beauty

The language of our being is silence. Yet when our being desires to communicate, one of its first expressions is the language of music. Music is more tangible than silence but remains pure for it is not yet coloured by the discriminating mind.

In the absence of lyrics, there is no story, no self, no other. There is only primordial sound, harmonising and interweaving with itself, arising from the womb of creation.

Music touches us deeply because it invites the mind to turn around and return to its source. It is the sound of the beloved calling us home.

The beauty evoked by music is a glimpse into our true nature. Music has the power to dissolve the illusory sense of separation, causing us to melt into the oneness of all seeming things, into reality itself.

I am humbled and honoured to share this gift of music with this community of friends and truth lovers.

Sujatha Maheshwari

flutist & composer

Sujatha’s musical exploration began with the piano at the age of 7, and deepened in her early 20s when she had the opportunity to study with flutist Paula Robison at the New England Conservatory of Music.

Her musical sensibility arises spontaneously from her mystical relationship with life. Her improvisations and compositions are channeled to evoke a sense of beauty from the wellspring of interconnectedness.

Sujatha is a creativity mentor and teaches flute and piano in Berkeley, California.
