In this yoga meditation we begin by being knowingly the open, empty, space-like presence of awareness, in which all experience appears, with which it is known and out of which it is made. We then investigate the experience of the body and see that, if our eyes are closed, our only experience of the body is sensation, and that sensation is like a current in the ocean, a ripple in the ocean of consciousness. It is in this deep exploration of the ‘I am the body’ feeling that the apparently separate self is gradually flushed out its hiding place, exposed to the light of awareness and gradually dissolved.
