Meditation or prayer is like falling deeply asleep whilst remaining awake. Deep sleep is considered by the mind to be a blank, empty state onto which it projects the idea of nothing. However, the idea of nothing only arises with reference to its previous experience of things in the waking state. Once it becomes clear that we don't really experience things, as such, in the waking state, deep sleep is relieved of its superimposition of nothing and stands revealed as the shining of being, God’s being. Feel that we are deeply asleep whilst remaining awake. In doing so, we are resting in God's arms, resting in being, as being. Just as meditation or prayer involves falling asleep whilst remaining awake, so everyday life involves waking up whilst remaining asleep.
