If reality is truly one, then the One’s knowledge of itself must be the only true knowledge. From the One’s perspective, there is no experience, no world, no self; it knows nothing and experiences nothing, but encompasses everything. To know, experience, or perceive something, we must stand apart from it in subject-object relationship: ‘I feel sad’, ‘I see the tree’. But for the One to experience anything other than itself, it would need to stand apart from that thing and cease to be one. Some may wonder about the practical use of this understanding. It’s like listening to Beethoven. You don’t ask how to use it; you simply let the music touch you. The mind cannot understand the music yet is effortlessly changed by it. All teachings lead to where there is no practice, method, ignorance, enlightenment, teaching, teacher, purpose, goal, person, self, world, creation or God – they lead simply to the One.
