Everyone is always aware of being, aware that ‘I am’. However, being seems mixed with, and obscured by, experience. We say, ‘I am upset’, and the ‘I am’, awareness of being, is present but mixed with the feeling of upset and becomes lost in experience. Experience is typically emphasised over awareness of being. In meditation this process is reversed; being is emphasised over experience. This mixture of being with thoughts and feelings seems to create a limited self. Subsiding into being, this finite self feels like it’s dissolving or dying, so fear arises. Don't be seduced by the fear; emphasise the ‘I am’. Eventually experience ceases to be a concealing power and becomes a revealing power. There is only one being pervading all things. There’s no ignorance, therefore no enlightenment; no separate self, therefore no path. Nothing is lacking, therefore no sorrow. There is no other; therefore love prevails.
