The essential understanding of the Tantric tradition is that reality is a single, infinite, indivisible whole whose nature is consciousness, or pure knowing. By ‘reality’ we mean everything there is; that which is outside of ourself and that which is inside of ourself. We believe and feel that reality is divided into two parts. The Tantric tradition suggests that reality is made only of pure consciousness, the knowing factor in all experience. Through the activity of perception the one appears as many. Reality is already there prior to perception, although it seems to be divided between a subject and an object. This is an appearance. There is often a discrepancy between our understanding and our lived experience. These meditations are attempts to reconcile this contradiction. Merging experience into awareness, we understand and feel that everything experienced, both inside and outside, is made of that indivisible whole, whose nature is love, or consciousness.
