The spiritual traditions can be divided into three categories. The first is the progressive path, which assumes separation and offers practices such as mantras or following the breath to still the mind and body. The second, the Direct Path, also starts with separation but engages self-enquiry or surrender to understand the nature of the self. The third path, the Pathless Path, presumes unity, recognising reality as one, which is infinite and indivisible, with no imperfection or lack. The apparent separate self seeks this unity, which never actually ceased to exist. The one infinite and indivisible reality is what everything is, and it only requires recognition, not restoration. It is the Pathless Path of the one. There is always only the one.
