The Happiness You Seek Is the Happiness You Are

Happiness or well being is the birthright of all people and this teaching will explore the means to peace and happiness. The path to self-enquiry has two stages. We first trace our attention inwards, away from the content of experience to the source, the heart, of awareness. The source of the mind is prior to any experience. It is empty of content. It is referred to as the original mind, or pure awareness. We ask the question, 'who am I' or 'what is it that is aware of experience'? This will direct the self into a directionless direction. The second aspect to self-enquiry gives way to the self-resting, self-bathing, or self-abidance. You may ask 'what is it that never leaves me?’ The answer is a living experience. We cannot find the answer. We are the answer. Remind the mind that the happiness you seek is the happiness you are.
