This meditation invites us to explore the essence of being by imagining a sensory-deprivation experience. Devoid of sensory input and mental clutter, we discover pure being – an awareness of ourself without the distractions of thoughts and external sensations. Being is self-aware, self-luminous and devoid of subject–object relationships. It's our essential, irreducible self, shining in each of us. As we delve deeper into this awareness, we realise that being is happiness and peace. It's neither finite nor infinite; it's dimensionless. Rest in this pure being, the practice of the presence of God. This requires no effort but merely simple recognition. Even in the midst of experience, being remains unchanged, pristine and at peace. This awareness is signified by the divine name ‘I am’. It's an invitation to return to the unconditioned, silent and peaceful core of our existence.
