Suffering Is a Call from Love

In this contemplation we are invited to bring our feelings of suffering close. We cannot feel love by escaping or avoiding experience, particularly painful feelings. If we want to experience love in our longing, our pain, our sorrow, we have to allow it so fully into ourself that we cannot stand back and name it. We have to breathe the feeling into ourself and open to it so fully that it is impossible for resistance to arise. Without resistance, how can suffering stand?
