Any impulse to change your experience is left over from searching for happiness in the world or from your previous spiritual practice. But that impulse is just part of current experience. Be aware without trying to change it in any way. Or ask yourself: What is it that knows my experience? Why is there experience? What renders experience knowable? Be interested in that which is aware. Experience is always in movement; awareness is always at peace. Losing ourself in experience or resting in and as awareness – the most important choice. Awareness is never endarkened by experience and therefore need not be enlightened via effort. Our body is covered in layers of clothing is still our naked body. Even clothed in experience, awareness is always naked, in the same condition. All experience shines with the knowing of it. Be that knowing. If we remain as that knowing, we are safe, always at peace.
