Awareness: the knowing element for and space-like medium within which all experience appears. Experience: the content of awareness. Sensation: the way we feel the body. Perception: the forms (our senses) by which we experience the world. The self: that which we remain throughout all changing experience. Objective experience is awareness plus its objective content. The “finite” mind: generic for thoughts, perceptions, feelings ... but we only ever experience one thought or perception at a time. Ego/separate self: a separate, individual self would be like a separate physical space in the universe. An illusion. The word ‘I’: the same self that I always am. Unlimited awareness shines in each of us as the knowledge ‘I.’ If we look for our self, we find only ever-present, unlimited awareness. How liberating not to be a bundle of thoughts, feelings, sensations, but just open, aware presence that touching all experience intimately, yet is never impacted by it.
