First we recognise ourself as the witnessing presence of awareness; second, we understand we are the medium within which all experience arises; then we recognise that we, awareness, are the reality of everything. In the absence of thought, there is no knowledge of a future; in the absence of memory, there is no knowledge of past. We are present now. That which remains when all thoughts, images feelings, sensations perceptions, activities and relationships have been removed cannot be named, and yet all our names refer to it. The name ‘I’ is the first form of God in the finite mind. Awareness knows no subject or object. All there is to the experience of the body is sensing, a movement or activity of the one infinite, immutable, indivisible reality. Nothing is created, nothing exists, nothing is destroyed.
