Luminous Emptiness, Full Without Objects

Awareness or consciousness is the knowing element in all experience. We habitually overlook awareness distracted by the content of experience, yet we are fundamentally that awareness. The finite mind is awareness plus experience – thoughts, sensations, perceptions. Though space in a room appears confined by its walls and contents, this space is actually the unlimited expanse of the universe; similarly, awareness is boundless. Our essential self, the awareness that knows experience, doesn’t share the finite qualities of thoughts or feelings. It’s a luminous emptiness, full without objects, pure knowing. We, awareness, experience no limits within ourselves; we are infinite. The separate self is a seeming blend of infinite awareness and experience, but in reality, no separate self exists. We are, and always have been, infinite consciousness. Recognising this, there’s no need for practice or progression, just the clear seeing of ourselves as we eternally are. This realisation is the ultimate understanding, the experience of love.
