This meditation explores the nature of the self and its relationship with infinite being. 'I' is a temporary, finite self that becomes personalised through experiences, thoughts and emotions. Beneath this personalised 'I' lies the essential, irreducible self. The meditation employs analogies – such as a watercolour by Turner in which a representation of the moon is actually the white paper that the painting appears on – to illustrate that our true being transcends the confines of the body, mind, time and space. It suggests that by sinking deeply into this essential being, we move beyond the limitations of the finite self and into the infinite and eternal. The 'I' is the portal between the finite ego and infinite being, serving as a guide to reconnect us with our true nature. Infinite being never truly departs or transforms into the finite self; rather, it is temporarily veiled by experiences. We turn inward and rest in the pure state of being. Nothing ever happens to being. Keep the name 'I' sacred.
