Almost all spiritual paths give the separate self we seem to be something to do to find happiness, enlightenment. But in the Pathless Path, we simply start with the one infinite being we essentially are . . . and stay there. The separate self is like a wave seeking water yet is already only water. The wave can see numerous other waves. But the ocean just knows itself, in motion or at rest. Likewise, for the separate self, there are numerous other selves and objects, names and forms. Beyond all these, there is the One, with which we hope to unite. From the One’s POV, there is just itself. It cannot stand apart from and look back at itself. It can only be itself knowingly. Its only experience is ‘I am’. Through thinking and perceiving, the One seems to become the many, without ever ceasing to be itself, whether in motion or at rest.
