Let go of the content of experience. If we look at the content, we say, ‘I am a person, man, woman, etc.’ But if our being stays with the nature of itself, it says, ‘In my own experience of myself, I am ever-present, limitless, free, at peace.’ If we feel, ‘I am the body’, we identify ourselves with changing sensations and perceptions. If we identify with the mind, we believe our self the same as thoughts, feelings, etc. But if we identify with the fact of being, we are not identical to anything other than our self. If we identify as a body, our experience is alternating pleasure and pain. If we identify as a mind, our experience is alternating sorrow and happiness. If we identify with our self as our self, then our experience is eternal peace. If we understand that our essential self is simply being, no further effort is required.
