In the Gospel of Thomas, there is a saying, 'If they ask you: What is the sign of your Father in you?, say to them: It is movement and rest.' Rest is the inner experience. Movement is the outer experience. If the rest is love, movement is praise and celebration, two aspects of God's being. When the journey to God comes to an end, the journey in God begins. Interior prayer is to God. Exterior prayer is to be in God, to recognise our shared being. The world is no longer a distraction from our being but shines with it. William Blake said, 'If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, Infinite.' Refuse to view the world through the lens that divides everything, but sees through appearances. Let everything come to rest in God's being.
