Experiencing Oneness as Peace and Happiness

In the non-dual understanding, reality is one, a single, infinite, indivisible whole. Everyone and everything is a temporary appearance of this unified reality. As human beings we experience this oneness in two ways: as the experience of peace and happiness on the inside and love and beauty on the outside. Suffering on the inside and conflict on the outside are the inevitable consequence of the belief in separation. The separate self is not an entity, but the activity of self. In non-duality, there are two approaches to the experience of suffering. In the first, we investigate the nature of the self and look for the one who suffers. In the second, we turn towards experience and embrace it fully. This is the way of surrender. Happiness is the inevitable consequence of the recognition of oneness.
