This meditation explores the convergence of two spiritual paths: the inward-facing path (Vedantic) and the outward-facing path (Tantric). It emphasises that these paths, though seemingly distinct, ultimately lead to the same understanding of one's true nature. The analogy of Turner's watercolour depicting a full moon on white paper is used to illustrate this unity. The moon represents the individual self (the 'I am'), while the white paper symbolises the universal being that underlies all of existence. The meditation encourages us to recognise that, from a deeper perspective, there is no real division between inner and outer, self and world. It suggests that genuine understanding arises not through external practices or efforts but through a deep internal recognition. Through divine listening, or feasting on the word, we truly internalise this understanding; our thoughts, feelings and actions naturally transform as we align more with our essential nature.
