For newcomers, the Pathless Path within the great tradition of spiritual practice suggests no journey from our perceived self to our actual being, as there’s no separation between them. It is unlike the progressive path, which focuses attention on objects like breath or mantras to continually provide temporary relief. The Direct Path turns attention inwards to trace back to our essential self – pure being or awareness. The Pathless Path, however, doesn’t address the separate self’s longing for happiness or enlightenment. It begins and remains with our fundamental state of being. We all inherently feel ‘being’, the simplest, most intimate experience. We are always, unchangeably, our being. It’s about ceasing to overlook this in favour of experience. On the Pathless Path, there’s nothing for the mind to do; we simply abide as we are, already home, in a state of peace that is ever-present, not a practice but a recognition of being.
