Anything we experience – a thought, memory, emotion or physical object – exists. It has form and dimension, extending in time or space, and can be named. These forms are temporary; they arise, endure and vanish within a medium that itself does not exist. If it existed, it would require a prior medium, leading to infinite regress. ‘Existence’ implies standing out from something. What everything stands out from – being – does not exist but must be. Any existent thing must be within being. The names and forms we experience – thoughts, feelings, objects – seem real when we overlook their true reality: infinite being. This infinite being is our true self. It doesn’t shine in us, but as us. The universe exists as our being. Infinite being belongs to itself and is our true self. If infinite being is all there is, only its self-knowledge can be true. The nature of being is love, the absence of separation or otherness.
