Sound the divine name ‘I am’ gently in your mind and see the words fade into that to which they refer. The shining of this presence is what you are before you were you – what I am before the words ‘I am’ arise. Passing through this portal, the mind enters eternity where being shines alone – infinite being, God’s being, our being. This is what you are before becoming you, what God is before becoming God, what everything is before becoming a thing. Allowing ‘I am’ to be qualified by experience shifts us from eternity into time. Like a naked body wearing clothes, being wears experiences but is never qualified by them. Standing as naked being, we stand as one – free, at peace, in love. Every moment is saturated with being. Being only being, knowing only being, loving only being is both the pinnacle of self-knowledge and the ultimate devotion to God.
