A Multitude or the Single Face of God? from the media A Multitude, or the Single Face of God?

Being is the medium, the substance, out of which everything arises, in which everything exists, and into which everything ultimately vanishes. Perception seems to refract being into diversity. We can choose to see the multiplicity or the singular ‘being’. Poets like George Herbert and William Blake suggest perception can reveal or conceal this unity. The world, when believed to be made of separate objects and others, conceals infinite being. Seeing through this belief, the world becomes transparent to its reality – infinite being – and this understanding transforms our perception. Wherever we look, inside or outside, there is just the one being, just God’s being, just the divine presence, shining on the inside as the amness of our self, shining on the outside as the isness of things. We have the freedom to see the world as a multitude or as the singular face of God.
