Bringing the non-dual understanding into the field of medicine

My name is Naomi Tzril Saks, and I work as a clinical health care chaplain in palliative care and a faculty member at University of California, San Francisco. I have a particular interest in bringing the non-dual understanding to the newly diagnosed, seriously ill, dying, as well as the physicians and health care professionals who accompany them. I am ordained and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School, a Master of Arts in Business Management at Antioch University, and completed the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. I have been attending Rupert’s retreats on the West Coast since 2023.

I am reaching out to physicians, nurses, mental health professionals, spiritual care providers and other friends in health care to come together to reflect on how the non-dual understanding is informing our work. Together, we will explore how we might, individually or collaboratively, integrate this understanding into our work, organizations, institutions and communities in a routine and focused way.
