Be Nothing to Be One with God's Nature from the media Be Nothing to Be One with God’s Nature

Meister Eckhart said, "Since it is God’s nature not to be identical to anything other than itself, we must come to the state of being nothing in order to be one with God’s nature." What does it mean to come to a state of being nothing? It means, to take off, so to speak, all the garments of experience until we come to naked being, and simply to abide as that. Abide as being, which has never been endarkened by experience and therefore need not be enlightened by practice. Abide as that which knows nothing, understands nothing, seeks nothing, desires nothing, resists nothing, acquires nothing and becomes nothing.
