Early morning is auspicious for meditation because the peace of deep sleep still lingers, making it easy to go back to your being. Imagine falling asleep again whilst remaining awake. Perceptions and sensations leave you, then thoughts and images leave, and you remain wide awake and in deep sleep. It’s not necessary for experiences to leave – just do not refer to them. All that remains is aware being at peace. If you remain in the mind, you will feel bored and restless. If you remain in your being, you will experience peace. Previously your being seemed to acquire the restlessness of body and mind. Now your being reconditions your mind and body, infusing them with peace, transparency and luminosity. The peace flows out beyond mind and body and bestows radiance on the world. Let your body move in space, mind explore in time, but leave your heart resting in being.
