You can say ‘I am’ with absolute certainty because these words refer to your direct experience of yourself – not mediated through thought or perception. The knowledge ‘I am’ is the only knowledge not subject to limitations of the finite mind. Therefore, it is absolute knowledge. Your knowledge of the world is relative. But you have direct access to your being. Everyone has equal access. ‘I am’ refers to who you are prior to experience. You have the same access the Buddha had. Enlightenment is recognition of your being. In the experience of being: no shape, size, color, age. Your experience is infinite. If your being were to describe itself, all it could say is ‘I am’. ‘I am’ is the truest statement, foundation of knowledge. When you allow yourself to be drawn in, you pass into God’s being. ‘I am’ is a portal from finite to infinite. You have direct access at every moment.
