An Ocean of Peace and Overflowing Love

All there is to experience is the knowing of it – not two things, but one. The only substance in any experience is knowing. Touch any experience and you find only knowing. Every experience tastes of yourself, pure knowing. The only true statement this knowing can make is ‘I am’ – God’s name, the highest knowledge, shining in everyone’s heart. Knowing isn’t divided into knower and known; it’s one seamless field. Yet traditions teach discrimination as a necessary first step, drawing attention from exclusive involvement in experience. This discrimination is the thorn removing the thorn of suffering; then both should be thrown away. First there’s just the movie, then movie and screen, then just the screen. Sacred and profane distinctions dissolve. Practice peters out naturally. You become simple and natural again – a farmer, bus driver – knowing you’re beyond any tradition. Experience is outshone, and an ocean of peace and overflowing love remains.
