‘I’ –The Portal into God’s Being

Be aware of any residual impulse to desire anything other than what is. In the sanctuary of the heart, I am what God is, and God is what I am. When will is divested of residual impulse – the impulse to find happiness, become enlightened – it becomes pure will, God’s free will that seeks nothing, knows nothing, has nothing but is everything. When desire is divested of its object, it stands revealed as pure joy. When the beloved is removed from longing, longing is revealed as love. When time is removed from becoming, you stand in eternity as pure being. Jesus called himself ‘I’. The Buddha called himself ‘I’. The name you give yourself is ‘I’. If God could speak, the name God would give itself is not ‘God’, for ‘God’ is ‘I’ for God. The name ‘I’ is a portal through which we pass from time into eternity, from selfhood into God’s being.
